HomeMy WebLinkAboutLinda Humphrey- The Oviedo Voice-1996 Rouse meets with Oviedo Chamber of Commerce "What are we presenting to the Oviedo Chamber of Commerce?Just the reassur- ance that we are still there--that Rouse will move to Oviedo and Rouse will build the project(Oviedo Crossing Mall)" said Senior Development Director Mike Bryant in a telephone interview last week. "There have been rumors that the mall project is dead,and we want to put those to rest,"he added. "The Chamber has been very supportive," he said, answering why this forum was chosen. When asked about the Simon Mall property on East Colonial,Bryant said"We're not concerned.Our site is better.If the Simon people develop that site,that's their busi- ness.We'fe focusing on what we can control,which is our project." Bryant and Spokesperson Susan Houck talked to the Chamber on Valentines Day. The program was"How Energy Impacts Your Bottom Line"by Katherine K.Hurt,en- ergy extension agent with the University of Florida. The noon meeting was held at Toucan Willies. inda Humphrey to over Winter Springs or The OviedoVoice Linda Humphrey;a recent arrival to Winter Springs,will cover the Winter Springs City Commission for the Oviedo Voice. Andrew Yawn, the previous correspondent,resigned for personal reasons. A former lead writer for the Satellite Beach Orbiter and a correspon- dent for Florida Today newspaper,Linda is also a public speaker and a seminartvwrkshop presenter,having appeared before such organizations as the Society of Women Engineers and Delta kappa Gamma sorority. Linda has been a freelance/writer and correspondent,photographer, and columnist since July of 1991.coveting Brevard County. She was responsible for news-related articles involving community affairs,human interests,city government,education and environmental pntlects. Steve Combs, former editor of this paper and a M.S. Journalism graduate from Ball State University In Indiana will take hrnon's duties at the Oviedo City Council.While Combs is out of town,Humphrey will fill in at the Council as well.
