Kiwanis Club
supports mall
I am writing on behalf of the
Oviedo/Knights Kiwanis Club, re-
garding the plans for building a shop-
ping mall at Oviedo Crossing by the
Rouse Company. As concerned citi-
zens of the Oviedo community', we
naturally researched the impact that
such a project would have on the resi-
dents of Oviedo and Seminole County.
It is our conclusion,that a Mar-
ketplace at Oviedo Crossing, devel-
oped by an affiliate of The Rouse
Company,one of the country's lead-
ing shopping center developers and
managOefs,can only be a well needed
asset to Seminole County. It is with
apparent confidence that this will be
a first-class shopping coniplexprovid-
ing access to quality shopping while
complimenting the beauty of the natu-
ral envimnman.
As concerned residents,we have
taken into consideration the expected
increase in the commercial tax base,
which is necessary to ease the exist-
ing tax burden on residents.Also,we
must appreciate the munber of con-
struction and pemtanant jobs that this
venture will create.
Finally,on behalf of the Oviedo/
Knights Kiwanis Club, we endorse
The Market Place at Oviedo Cross-
ing,not only on the basis stated above,
but also as a source of community
pride and enrichment
