DUSANA SOUCHEK ARTIST OF 19% TASTE POSTER The charm of four cottages on Broadway, the main road in historic down- town Oviedo, is captured in soft, watercolor pastels in a-painting by area artist Dusana Souchek. The painting has been selected as the featured work for A Taste of Oviedo. It has been reproduced into a limited edition of 00 prints, all signed by the artist, and will be available for$15 each at Taste. the The painting was inspired after the artist read a book on the history of Oviedo. She spent time driving up and down Broadway in search of a subject that would reflect the quaint charm of the city's past. "Wherever• I looked, I was drawn to the cottages," Souchek noted. She sketched the scene at various times of day to catch the effects of various shadows. • Souchek, a resident of Winter Springs, emigrated to the United States from Czechoslovakia in 1968. Her work has been shown throughout the state of Florida. This year she earned three awards at the St.John's Riverfest, including Best of Show, and was awarded Best of Show at the Ponce Inlet Art Festival in March. 9& e 3'/ Winter Springs artist Anna Chen paints with an Oriental ft, 2./5//✓ Tuscawilla streets are too By Dianne Copelon participates in at least 20 major regulated for mall traffic SEm1NEL CORRESPONDENT festivals a year.
