Regular Meeting Authorization REQUEST: The Parks and Recreation Department requests the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee discuss the Trotwood Park Improvements. CONSIDERATIONS:  Several improvements are being considered at Trotwood Park including: Improved entrance Improved paved parking Pavilion Connecting the park Improved sidewalks and crosswalks Swing Set  Design is at 90% completion.  The improvements go to the City Commission on 6/13/16 for approval. RECOMMENDATION: The Parks and Recreation Department is recommending that the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee consider and discuss the Trotwood Park Improvements. ATTACHMENTS: Attachment A – Trotwood Park Paving Plan Attachment B – Trotwood Park Swing Set Trotwood Park Improvements Project • Connectivity of Trotwood Park by tying in the main parking lots on Trotwood Blvd and Northern Way. • Paved parking for the playground, splash pad, and courts. • Raised pedestrian crossing on the new drive path for traffic cal mi ng and safety. • Parking lot expansion at the smaller parking lot on Northern Way. Parking capacity will increase from 11 to 25 parking stalls. • New signage and landscaping at the large parking lot entrance on Northern Way. • Both entry ways on Northern Way will be rebuilt to allow for a smoother entry /exit for vehicles. • 9dewalkswill be constructed along the courts and connected from Northern Way to the ball fields parking lot. • Aseat -wall will be included along the basketball court along with bollardsto prevent vehiciesfrom entering the court. • There will be anew dumpster enclosure constructed. • Recommended ADA i mprovements wi I I be incorporated throughout the park. • Final design is projected to be submitted by the end of March and released for bidding immediately.
