REQUEST:
The Police Department requests that the Commission accept a cash donation from the
Scottish American Society of Central Florida in the amount of$500 to help defray the cost
associated with Incident Command Trailer.
SYNOPSIS:
The Scottish American Society of Central Florida has graciously donated $500 to help
defray the cost associated with an Incident Command Trailer. Staff is requesting the
Commission's approval to accept this donation and apply the amount towards the purchase
of the Incident Command Trailer.
CONSIDERATIONS:
The Police Department filed for and received residual grant funds in the amount of$50,000
from the State of Florida to purchase an Incident Command Trailer. This trailer is equipped
to handle planned and unplanned events throughout the City. Part of the planned events
would be the annual Scottish Highland games that are held in Central Winds Park. This
event draws an enormous crowd which also constitutes a large police presence. Incident
planning coupled with command and control is paramount when this takes place. The
Scottish American Society of Central Florida recognizes the need for such a plan and has
contributed by making a cash donation in the amount of $500 to offset some of the cost
associated with the Incident Command Trailer.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There will be no cost impact to the General Fund. Conversely a positive impact will be
realized in the General Fund by accepting this donation. There are no matching funds
