REQUEST:
The Information Services Department requests Commission approve the renewal and
payment of the annual Cisco Smartnet maintenance agreement thru Veytec, Inc., in the
amount of $29,647.33 (utilizing State of Florida Contract #43220000-WSCA-I4-ACS) and
authorize the City Manager and City Attorney to prepare and execute all necessary
documents.
SYNOPSIS:
The City's data and phone network operates on Cisco network equipment. The annual Cisco
Smartnet maintenance agreement is due to be renewed for the upcoming year. Quotes were
solicited and Veytec was the lowest quote. Information Services requests authorization for
renewal and payment of the annual Cisco Smartnet maintenance agreement in the amount of
$29,647.33 (utilizing State of Florida Contract #43220000-WSCA-I4-ACS) and for the
City Manager and City Attorney to prepare and execute all necessary documents.
CONSIDERATIONS:
The City's data and phone network is dependent upon the various Cisco
network components such as switches, routers, servers, software, access points, and
firewalls. To ensure maximum network uptime and minimize interruptions to City
operations, all of our critical equipment is covered under various maintenance and support
agreements.
Our Cisco Smartnet agreement coverage ensures that we have access to 24/7 top level
technical support as well as replacement parts on a 4-hour response basis.
The annual Smartnet maintenance agreement for our Cisco equipment is due to be renewed

for the upcoming year. The following quotes were received as follows:
Veytec $29,647.33
SHI $30,056.25
Dyntek $32,798.00
We will be utilizing the State of Florida Contract #43220000-WSCA-I4-ACS. Complete

Information Services requests authorization for renewal and payment of the annual Cisco
Smartnet maintenance agreement thru Veytec, Inc., in the amount of$29,647.33, and for the
City Manager and City Attorney to prepare and execute all necessary documents.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The fiscal impact is $29,647.33. This is a budgeted and recurring item and will be paid from
Information Services Maintenance budget.
COMMUNICATION EFFORTS:
This Agenda Item has been electronically forwarded to the Mayor and City Commission,
City Manager, City Attorney/Staff, and is available on the City's Website, LaserFiche, and
the City's Server. Additionally, portions of this Agenda Item are typed verbatim on the
respective Meeting Agenda which has also been electronically forwarded to the individuals
noted above, and which is also available on the City's Website, LaserFiche, and the City's
Server; has been sent to applicable City Staff, Media/Press Representatives who have
requested Agendas/Agenda Item information, Homeowner's Associations/Representatives
on file with the City, and all individuals who have requested such information. This
information has also been posted outside City Hall, posted inside City Hall with additional
copies available for the General Public, and posted at five (5) different locations around the
City. Furthermore, this information is also available to any individual requestors. City Staff
is always willing to discuss this Agenda Item or any Agenda Item with any interested
individuals.
RECOMMENDATION:
Information Services recommends Commission authorize renewal and payment of the
annual Cisco Smartnet maintenance agreement thru Veytec, Inc., in the amount of
$29,647.33 utilizing State of Florida Contract#43220000-WSCA-I4-ACS, and for the City
Manager and City Attorney to prepare and execute all necessary documents.
