WHEW JIM PITTS was a resident of the City of Winter Springs for more than twenty years;and cared a great deal
about the City where he resided,including concern for his fellow residents and neighbors;and
I-WR' during his residency in Winter Springs, and over the course of more than ten years,JIM PITTS served on
the City of Winter Springs' Code Enforcement Board in various capacities including being Elected to serve as Vice-
Chairperson and Chairperson of this very important City Board;and
VNFRF.74 as serving his City was so important to him,JIM PITTS further served the City he cared so much about,in
another volunteer role,this time that of a"Citizens on Patrol";and
Volunteers in the City often have a crucial role in the enhancement of City services and assisting in helping
keep the City safe;and in coordination with the City's Police Department,"Citizens on Patrol"provide high visibility,assist
the sworn Officers with numerous important tasks such as handling area patrols, working special events, assisting with
traffic issues,working with road patrol units, performing house checks and business checks, sharing helpful information
about Police Department programs to community members as needed; and "Citizens on Patrol" actually drive special
patrol units marked as "Citizens on Patrol" and are in direct contact with all official Police Department communications;
and
JIM PITTS was actually part of the City of Winter Springs' initial "Citizens on Patrol" program; and as a
"Citizens on Patrol", over the span of the next four years worked 1864.5 hours,which is an average of 466 hours a year,
and approximately 39 hours a month in this most important role;and
JIM PITTS sincerely enjoyed being a resident of Winter Springs, Florida, a Code Enforcement Board
Member, and a "Citizens on Patrol" and through his many efforts and contributions to this great City, and with his true
zest for life,and his sincere care for his community,JIM PITTS truly made such a difference in so many lives.
Mayor of the City of Winter Springs, Florida do hereby issue
this Proclamation with the greatest appreciation in honor of
