HomeMy WebLinkAboutGranville Brown The Village of North Orlando has progressed steadily in the last few
years due to the progressive leadership of the present Village Council:
1. Longwood-Oviedo Road has street lights and lights are installed
on streets within the Village.
2. Street signs, stop and yield signs, speed limit signs and school
bus signs have been erected and maintained for driving safety
and the protection of our children.
3. A Planning and Zoning Commission is able to maintain and improve
the status of the Village.
4. The Road and Bridge Committee works continuously to maintain and
improve the roads.
5. The Health and Recreation Committee has created and maintained
a 12 acre Recreation Area with a Little League Ball Park and
Basketball Courts.
6. The Police and Fire Department Committee has worked diligently
with the Volunteer Fire Department.
7. The Village requires police protection and, in order to insure
this, we have hired a reliable and dedicated policeman; a new
police car, with latest equipment, has been ordered with
expected delivery in the next few weeks.
All this has been accomplished on a small utility tax of 10% with a
maximum of 75 cents per utility. The income from this tax will take care of the
Village requirements with no additional tax required.
THE COUNCIL HAS AT NO TIME CONSIDERED AD VALOREM TAXES AND
WE DO NOT EXPECT TO HAVE THIS TYPE OF TAX.
The Village of North Orlando is at a crucial stage of growth and
development and requires experienced, progressive leadership to retain what we
have gained in the last few years.
I AM SURE NO ONE WHO REMEMBERS THE YEARS OF 1961-1963 WISHES
TO RETURN THE VILLAGE TO THAT ERA OF TURMOIL AND STRIFE.
I have faith and hope in the future of the Village of North Orlando
and will work unceasingly to improve it.
Therefore, I respectfully request your vote and support for Councilman,
Group 2, in the election on March 21, 1967.
Sincerely,
Granville J. Brown
