Subject : Additional coverage to insure 24-hour
protection. _ _-
Gentlemen :
Whereas the undersigned, Sgt. Kenneth and Patrolman
Smart are unable to extend seven days a week, 24-
hour Village the
possibility of hiring additional personnel to provide
such coverage.
A. 1. An additional full-time patrolman plus
two additional part-time patrolmen.
Full time patrolman to work forty hours
per week; additional part-time patrol-
men to work sixteen hours per week each.
Patrolman Smart to be paid and work
sixteen hours in lieu of the fourteen
hours the Village pays him for.
A2. Al art-time patrolmen to be employed.
Each patrolman to work approximately
twelve hours with the exception of
Patrolman Smart who will work a total
sixteen hours.
B. The cost of paragraph A.1. for a six
months period January 1 through June 30,
1972 would be approximately $4,0614. The
cost of paragraph A. 2 for the same period
using all part-time patrolmen would be
approximately $3,328.
C. Additional gasoline and maintenance costs
due to the increase in mileage on the police
car would be approximately $600 for said
period of time.
