SEPTEMBER 9 AND 11: MOVING DAYS
We will not be able to keep our historical artifacts and papers where
they've been.
We need to move everything to the storage area donated by Walt
Dittmer (Dittmer Architectural Aluminum, 1006 Shepard Road in Winter
Springs).
We'll pack it up securely in boxes on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 9th,
and then move it to Dittmer's on MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 11th.. We need
to go during their open hours and besides, the 9th is Walt's birthday.
DelVaggio's said we can use their truck. Several members are bringing
boxes.
John will be getting back on September 8th, so we can welcome him
back and pack at the same time!
This storage area will be temporary. We need to find a permanent place
soon.
CHRISTMAS PARADE is in November. Bring your ideas to next meeting.
SEPTEMBER 28th - NEXT MEETING
Invite your friends to the September 28th meeting. We will have notices
in the papers and in some buildings. Robert King will be our speaker.
NEWSPAPER ARCHIVES
Mary Norton has pasted hundreds of newspaper articles and will be
almost up to date as of the September 28th meeting!
TREASURER, Chuck Holzman reports that as of August 22, $80.00 has been
received. He has opened an account. Anyone who hasn't paid dues of$5.00
(plus any amount over you wish to send) may mail it to Chuck, 81 South
Fairfax Avenue, Winter Springs, FL 32708.
NON-PROFIT STATUS
We have the papers to file to receive non-profit status. The filing
procedure is rather simple, but we do have to send money. The minimum is
$70.00 and we probably need to send $135.00 to do it properly. The yearly
filing fee is $67.50. We will need a motion at our meeting to do this. The
advantages include being able to apply for grants and having donations be tax
deductable. The disadvantages include spending money we barely have.
