DON JONAS UNDERSTANDS. . .
DON UNDERSTANDS THESE DIFFICULT ECONOMIC TIMES.Keeping your taxes low is
* important.Keeping expenses down and making sure our city is fiscally responsible to its citizens is a must.
During his term,
* • Tight budgets were in order.Taxes kept low.
* • Don saved us over$10,000 by seeking volunteers to do work that normally the taxpayers would
have paid for.
DON RECOGNIZES THE NEEDS OF OUR COMMUNITY.Don founded and set up our Citizen's
* Alert program for seniors.Today and everyday;
• Seniors in Winter Springs receive a phone call in the morning making sure they are safe and well.
* • If they need special assistance or have an emergency,the police dispatcher is listening in and ready
* to take immediate action.
T • What a reassuring and comfortable feeling that can be.
* DON KNOWS WHAT IT TAKES TO REPRESENT US.Don doesn't just offer lip service when we
* need to get something done. He's out there getting it done. Repeatedly, Don has supported the
*
y community's efforts to get needed street lighting,maintenance and public safety services.
* DON HAS WORKED HARD. He's kept out of your neighborhood undesirable commercial
* development. Don encourages attracting compatible businesses that reduce the homeowner's tax burden
and provide jobs for our residents.
* DON GOES OUT OF HIS WAY TO HELP. Don believes in supporting our community,whenever
and wherever he can. Don's efforts resulted in over$25,000.00 raised for academic scholarships and
* programs that support local charities.Often taking the initiative,demonstrates leadership;like getting the
Seminole County School Board to respond favorably to the Commission's wish to have the new high
* school named after our city.
* BOARD APPOINTMENTS DON MADE,INSURE THAT THE HIGHLANDS IS WELL
REPRESENTED AT CITY HALL.
