Opposes
'Dump'

Village of North Orlando went
on record at Monday night's
council meeting in opposition of
the county locating a sanitary
landfill on Tuskawilla Road near
the High Flavor Meats plant.
Clifford Jordan, head of the
village 'riming cbnimlhsion, ex-
plained that the landfill area
could "more legitimately be
called a dump and that it would
blight the surrounding area and
pollute the air In North Orlan-
do."
Council voted to send a resolu-
tion of protest to the county
commissioners.
In other business, the new
comprehensive zoning ordinance
was submitted to council by
Jordan. The ordinance will be
published in its entirety In The
Sanford Herald and public hear-
ings have been set for Nov. 29-
28.
Councilman Charles E.RoweI
reminded that dog.Iicenses are
due in the village. Prices are
$1 for males and$2 for females.
Deadline is December 1.
Mayor George Fuller announc-
ed that the Florida Highway Pa-
trol had presented a Certificate
of Merit to the Village of North V
Orlando for "Meritorious ser- t•
vice to its people and to the
state of Florida by virtue of
having recorded no traffic fatal-
ities during the period January
I, 1966, to December 31. 1966."
