Winter Springs police
officers cut union ties
WINTER SPRINGS—The city
Police Department has dropped its
relationship with the union after
one year.
The department's rank and file
voted 18 to 14 not to continue with
the Central Florida Police
Benevolent Association.
Winter Springs approved the
union last summer.But it took
months of negotiations with the
City Commission to settle on a
contract.This summer the officers
received the same pay raise and
incentives given to other city
workers last October.
Police Chief.Charlie Sexton said
the department has voted against
