Erik Eriksen, 19, was being held in the Seminole County jail with$2,000 bail. Semi- nole County deputy sheriffs on Thursday charged Eriksen, 1380 Corte Neuva, with two counts of im- personating an officer. One girl said Erik- Eriksen sen suggested that she run away from home, according to an arrest report. The 14-year-old girl also said that Eriksen told her he was a Volusia County deputy. . Meanwhile, one of Eriksen's friends on Friday de- fended the pizza delivery driver. Pete Coon, 19, of Winter Park said that he was with Eriksen during one of the alleged impersonation inci- dents. Coon said Eriksen did not pretend to be an offi- cer,nor did he threaten to write anyone a ticket. But deputies say several callers alleged that Eriksen also told them he was a police officer. Eriksen told dep- uties that he pulled over as many as a dozen drivers in east Seminole County during the past six months. On Thursday, deputies seized a flashing green light, a pair of handcuffs and a siren control box from Erik- sen's dark purple pickup truck. Possession of those items is legal. Police warned motorists to pull over only for police vehicles with red or blue flashing lights and to ask to see police identification and a badge.
