REQUEST:
The Parks and Recreation Department wishes to inform the Parks and Recreations
Advisory Committee about the improvements made at the Winter Springs Dog Park.
CONSIDERATIONS:
On March 2, 2015, the Winter Springs Dog Park closed for 6 weeks to make
improvements.
The Parks and Recreation Department made the following improvements:
New Sod – added sod to the areas that were all dirt
New Vinyl Fence – to reduce the aggressive behavior
New Gardens – installed plants around dog statues
New Water Conditioner – softens minerals in the water
Trimmed Trees – clear walking paths
Pressure Wash – sidewalks, shades, and play features
New Irrigation System – installed more efficient system
New Drainage Improvement – help dry the dog park
New Dog Washing Station – to help owners clean their dogs
The Parks and Recreation Department would like to thank the Parks Maintenance
Team and the Park Rangers for all their hard work during the 6 weeks.
The Winter Springs Dog Park re-opened on Saturday April 18th with a Bark in the
Park event.

RECOMMENDATION:
The Parks and Recreation Department is requesting that the Parks and Recreation
Advisory Committee receive the information provided in this Agenda Item.
