SYNOPSIS: The City Commission is involved with many special events each year, and one event that many members of the City Commission participate in, is the Police Department's "Shop with a Cop" program which includes breakfast and shopping with underprivileged children in Winter Springs. CONSIDERATIONS: For a number of years, the City of Winter Springs' Police Department has held a"Shop with a Cop" event which through generous donations, approximately 30-35 children are taken on a $100 shopping spree for Christmas. Each child is usually paired with a Law Enforcement Official, and often members of the City Commission— all enjoy a full breakfast, which over the past few years has been kindly hosted and provided by Winter Springs business "Senor Tequila" restaurant at no cost to the City for this event. Breakfast is followed by pre-paid shopping experience. The City's "Shop with a Cop" event is very well received and appreciated by the children as well as the adults. WHEREAS,the City of Winter Springs' Police Department has been holding a "Shop with a Cop" event during December of each year which involves approximately 30-35 children are provided with a special breakfast, and then are taken on a $100.00 shopping spree for Christmas; and each child is paired with a Law Enforcement Official, and often, members of our City Commission; and WHEREAS, the "Shop with a Cop" event starts out with a hearty breakfast and since 2011, the "SENOR TEQUILA'S restaurant, has assisted the City of Winter Springs' Police Department with this event by providing breakfast for all participants at NO cost to the City for this event; and WHEREAS, "SENOR TEQUILA'S graciously and generously prepare, cook, and serve a great breakfast all made possible by the owners and their Staff; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission of the City of Winter Springs, Florida, wish to express their most heartfelt appreciation to "SENOR TEQUILAJ' for being such a caring community partner and business in this City. Now THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of Winter Springs, Florida that: SECTION L - That this Resolution of Appreciation for the outstanding kindness, generosity, and true community service of"SENOR TEQUILA'S be recorded upon the Public Records and Minutes of said City Commission of the City of Winter Springs, Florida.
