SYNOPSIS: On November 4, 2014, the City of Winter Springs' held a General Municipal Election and this Agenda Item is to inform the Mayor and City Commission of the results of the November 4, 2014 Municipal General Election. CONSIDERATIONS: The City of Winter Springs' held a General Municipal Election On November 4, 2014. Prior to this Election, the City's Qualifying period ran from Noon on Monday, August 25, 2014 until Noon on Friday, August 29, 2014. At the end of Qualifying, the following individuals were (Re)Elected Unopposed to a four (4) year Term of Office: Mayor: Charles Lacey Commissioner - District/Seat Four: Cade Resnick The November 4, 2014 General Municipal Election was held to determine the winner of the Commissioner - District/Seat Two race which had two (2) Candidates who had qualified to run for this Seat. Informational 202 PAGE 1 OF 2 - November 17, 2014 The Seminole County Supervisor of Elections should be providing Certified Results at a later date. In the meantime, a copy of the "Unofficial Results" is attached, and when this Agenda Item went to press, the results as shown below and on the attachment are still unofficial: Rick Brown 5,296 Votes 45.42% Kevin Cannon 6,364 Votes 54.58% FISCAL IMPACT: There is no Fiscal Impact to be considered with the approval of this Agenda Item. COMMUNICATION EFFORTS: This Agenda Item has been electronically forwarded to the Mayor and City Commission, City Manager, City Attorney /Staff, and is available on the City's Website, LaserFiche, and the City's Server. Additionally, portions of this Agenda Item are typed verbatim on the respective Meeting Agenda which has also been electronically forwarded to the individuals noted above, and which is also available on the City's Website, LaserFiche, and the City's Server; has been sent to applicable City Staff, Media/Press Representatives who have requested Agendas /Agenda Item information, Homeowner's Associations/Representatives on file with the City, and all individuals who have requested such information. This information has also been posted outside City Hall, posted inside City Hall with additional copies available for the General Public, and posted at five (5) different locations around the City. Furthermore, this information is also available to any individual requestors. City Staff is always willing to discuss this Agenda Item or any Agenda Item with any interested individuals. RECOMMENDATION: The City Commission is requested to receive and review the information provided in this Agenda Item.
