REQUEST:
The Parks and Recreation Department is requesting authorization for a purchase from Gulf
Coast Sports, LLC for installation of eight (8) Central Winds Park bleachers.
SYNOPSIS:
The Central Winds Park Bleachers Project consists of eight (8) 5 Row by 27 foot non -
elevated aluminum bleachers with guardrail system. This will increase the seating capacity
at each field and comply with recommended ADA guidelines for safety. Work will
be scheduled to start in August 2014, in coordination with the Shade Structures project, to
be completed in September 2014.
CONSIDERATIONS:
• On May 12, 2014, Commission approved the design, fabrication, and installation of
eight (8) shade canopy structures at the Central Winds Park ball fields.
• In coordination with the shade structure project, staff received three bids for
purchase of eight (8) bleachers for the ball fields.
• The Central Winds Park bleachers project consist of eight (8) 5 Row by 27 foot non
elevated aluminum bleachers with a safety guardrail system.
• Existing bleachers are 22 yrs old and are not able to be retrofitted to have guardrail
systems installed on them safely. They will be used at other areas of the park system
as feasible and needed.
• The bleachers are longer than the current bleachers which will increase the seating
capacity.
• The guardrail system will add additional safety benefits for those sitting on upper
rows 3 through 5.

. Staff received bids from three vendors for bleachers:

Gulf Coast Sports, LLC bid included installation of the bleachers and included an
additional shade cover to attach to the bleachers at our T -ball field at Central Winds
Park.
Staff is recommending award of the project to Gulf Coast Sports, LLC.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The project cost is $31,970. The funding source for the project is the Park Impact Fee Fund.
COMMUNICATION EFFORTS:
This Agenda Item has been electronically forwarded to the Mayor and City Commission,
City Manager, City Attorney /Staff, and is available on the City's Website, LaserFiche, and
the City's Server. Additionally, portions of this Agenda Item are typed verbatim on the
respective Meeting Agenda which has also been electronically forwarded to the individuals
noted above, and which is also available on the City's Website, LaserFiche, and the City's
Server; has been sent to applicable City Staff, Media/Press Representatives who have
requested Agendas /Agenda Item information, Homeowner's Associations/Representatives
on file with the City, and all individuals who have requested such information. This
information has also been posted outside City Hall, posted inside City Hall with additional
copies available for the General Public, and posted at five (5) different locations around the
City. Furthermore, this information is also available to any individual requestors. City Staff
is always willing to discuss this Agenda Item or any Agenda Item with any interested
individuals.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the City Commission approve the purchase and installation of eight
(8) Central Winds Park bleachers from Gulf Coast Sports, LLC, per their bid.
