REQUEST:
The Parks and Recreation Department wishes to provide the City Commission with a status
update for the 2013 Celebration of Freedom event.
SYNOPSIS:
The purpose of this item is to provide the City Commission with a status update on the 2013
Celebration of Freedom event.
CONSIDERATIONS:
. City ICS committee is represented by members of each of the following departments;
Police, Public Works, Information Services, Finance, Seminole County Fire
Department, Parks and Recreation, and City Manager's office.
. On April 25th, 2013 the initial 2013 Celebration of Freedom ICS meeting was held
to discuss 2012 event evaluations, suggestions & for staff to give updates on progress
in their responsibilities.
• Event Co- hosted by CF News 13 host Allison Walker.
• Entertainment by Ennis Pruitt and the Breakers.
• Town Center businesses and local vendors have been contacted and encouraged to
participate in our City event. We are projecting 25 -30 vendors for the 2013 event.
• Sponsorship revenue & vendors resulted in a net revenue of $10,990.

FISCAL IMPACT:
Projected revenues = $33,300
Projected expenses = $22,310
Projected net = $10,990
COMMUNICATION EFFORTS:
This Agenda Item has been electronically forwarded to the Mayor and City Commission,
City Manager, City Attorney /Staff, and is available on the City's Website, LaserFiche, and
the City's Server. Additionally, portions of this Agenda Item are typed verbatim on the
respective Meeting Agenda which has also been electronically forwarded to the individuals
noted above, and which is also available on the City's Website, LaserFiche, and the City's
Server; has been sent to applicable City Staff, Media/Press Representatives who have
requested Agendas /Agenda Item information, Homeowner's Associations/Representatives
on file with the City, and all individuals who have requested such information. This
information has also been posted outside City Hall, posted inside City Hall with additional
copies available for the General Public, and posted at five (5) different locations around the
City. Furthermore, this information is also available to any individual requestors. City Staff
is always willing to discuss this Agenda Item or any Agenda Item with any interested
individuals.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the City Commission receive and review the information provided in this
Agenda Item.

Concession Vendors will be on hand featuring GREAT FOOD and DRINKS throughout the Grass Amphitheater.
For your safety: No fireworks, alcoholic beverages, personal pop up tents, cooking devices or
pets (with the exception of service animals) will be allowed to enter the shuttle bus or the event.
Coolers at a maximum size of a 6 pack are permitted. All bags and coolers will be subject to
search at the event gates.
