REQUEST:
The Community Development Department is requesting that the City Commission appoint
an alternate member for the Redevelopment Planning Agency (RPA), a group of elected
officials from the members of the 17-92 Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA)
SYNOPSIS:
The RPA is an advisory group to the CRA that reviews grant applications that are submitted
to the CRA. The City Commission has appointed Commissioner Pam Carroll to the RPA.
This request is for the Commission to appoint an alternate member to serve when and if
Commissioner Carroll (the current RPA member) is unable to attend a scheduled meeting.
CONSIDERATIONS:
The RPA meets approximately once each month, dependant upon the number of
applications for funding, to review the recommendations of the Technical Advisory
Committee (TAC). Community Development staff serve as members of the TAC as well as
technical advisors to the RPA. The TAC provides a staff-level review synopsis and
recommendation to the RPA. The RPA reviews all applicable information from the TAC
and the applicant and makes a recommendation to the CRA Board (County Commission)
for final action.

There is no fiscal impact associated with this agenda item.
