HomeMy WebLinkAboutOther-Recommendations Related to Agenda Item 600 Tuscawilla Unit 12/12A Wall Ad Hoc Advisory Committee Regular Meeting September 6, 2012 The attached document was provided to the Committee Members during the Regular Agenda Item "600" at the September 6, 2012 Tuscawilla Unit 12/12A Wall Ad Hoc Advisory Committee Meeting. 6 September 2012 I recommend that the 12/ 12A wall be treated individually in order to avoid confusion and expedite a proposal. Recommend treating wall as follows: Section A: Angled entrance walls that have been removed by the City. Section B: Angled entrance walls that currently exist. Section C: Straight walls that currently exist. (Walls primarily on City Right of Way) Considering each section individually will allow the AD-Hoc Advisory Committee to quickly build consensus. They following are my recommendations: 1. Construct new Section A angled entrance wall in same location and design as previous wall that was removed by the City and install signage for subdivision name. 2. Remove current Section B angled wall and construct new angled entrance wall in the same location and design and install signage for subdivision name. 3. Place Section C walls in a multiple year restoration program. An annual budget needs to be established and as much of the wall restored until funds are exhausted for the year. If the costs of the above mentioned recommendations are too great then another recommendation is to decline participation in an Assessment District. Other thoughts: Both sides of Section C wall must be restored. Unrestored interior portions will eventually lead to failure of entire wall. Landscaping need not be removed unless interior side restorations are required. Only a few feet of landscape removal maybe required. 10 feet of landscape removal along entire length of wall seems excessive. Regards, David Boldt, AIA
