REQUEST:
The City Clerk requests that the City Commission be advised of the upcoming Anniversary
date and Performance Review for the City Clerk, for the period from October 2011 through
September 2012, as requested by the City Commission.
SYNOPSIS:
The City Clerk is a Charter Officer and reports to the City Commission. The City Clerk's
Anniversary date is September 27. The City Commission has asked in previous years to be
provided with approximately one (1) month's notice of when the City Clerk's Performance
Review is due; and this was just re-affirmed at the August 13, 2012 City Commission
Regular Meeting. This Agenda Item is providing the City Commission with the
requested notice.
CONSIDERATIONS:
The Anniversary date for City Clerk, Andrea Lorenzo-Luaces is September 27th
In 2001, the City Commission asked that the City Commission be provided with
approximately one month in advance notice of the City Clerk's upcoming Anniversary date
is, and thus when a Performance Review would be due. Additionally, during related
discussions over the last couple of years, an Evaluation document for the City Commission
to use as a measurement tool was put together and provided for their consideration and use.
This evaluation tool has been provided for previous evaluation periods; and as
previously suggested, any Performance Reviews that are completed, would be submitted to
the Finance and Administrative Services Department Director, as directed by the City

Commission.
Unless other direction from the City Commission is given, the formal Performance Review
document entitled "City Clerk Performance Evaluation Form" which was used for the first
time in 2010, will again be provided to the City Commission during the applicable Regular
Agenda Item at the second September 2012 City Commission Regular Meeting.
FISCAL IMPACT:
As this is just notice of an upcoming evaluation, there is no Fiscal Impact to be considered
with this Agenda Item.
COMMUNICATION EFFORTS:
This Agenda Item has been electronically forwarded to the Mayor and City Commission,
City Manager, City Attorney/Staff, and is available on the City's Website, LaserFiche, and
the City's Server. Additionally, portions of this Agenda Item are typed verbatim on the
respective Meeting Agenda which has also been electronically forwarded to the individuals
noted above, and which is also available on the City's Website, LaserFiche, and the City's
Server; has been sent to applicable City Staff, Media/Press Representatives who have
requested Agendas/Agenda Item information, Homeowner's Associations/Representatives
on file with the City, and all individuals who have requested such information. This
information has also been posted outside City Hall, posted inside City Hall with additional
copies available for the General Public, and posted at five (5) different locations around the
City. Furthermore, this information is also available to any individual requestors. City Staff
is always willing to discuss this Agenda Item or any Agenda Item with any interested
individuals.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff requests the City Commission receive and review the information provided in this
Agenda Item.
