City Manager and Finance Department transmitting the City’s 2 Quarter 2012
fiscal year- financial reports via The Executive Dashboard.
SYNOPSIS:

Transmission of 2 Quarter 2012 fiscal year reports is being presented using
the dashboard technology/software.
CONSIDERATIONS:

A digital is an executive information system that (similar to an automobile's
dashboard) is designed to be easy to read and display critical information about the overall
performance and financial health of an organization. These key metrics are displayed in a
graphical format that can be read quickly to determine if the organization is functioning
within the acceptable range.

The financial statements and reports are and incorporate fiscal year activity from
October 1, 2011 through March 31, 2012.
It’s the intent of the staff to continue to add additional reports and graphs to the catalog that
currently exists over the coming months. This will continue to increase the financial
transparency of The City of Winter Springs. To view the reports please access them at

FISCAL IMPACT:
Current operations are proceeding as planned with no major deviations from the budget or
strategic goals.
COMMUNICATION EFFORTS:
This Agenda Item has been electronically forwarded to the Mayor and City Commission,
City Manager, City Attorney/Staff, and is available on the City’s Website, LaserFiche, and
the City’s Server. Additionally, portions of this Agenda Item are typed verbatim on the
respective Meeting Agenda which has also been electronically forwarded to the individuals
noted above, and which is also available on the City’s Website, LaserFiche, and the City’s
Server; has been sent to applicable City Staff, Media/Press Representatives who have
requested Agendas/Agenda Item information, Homeowner’s Associations/Representatives
on file with the City, and all individuals who have requested such information. This
information has also been posted outside City Hall, posted inside City Hall with additional
copies available for the General Public, and posted at five (5) different locations around the
City. Furthermore, this information is also available to any individual requestors. City Staff
is always willing to discuss this Agenda Item or any Agenda Item with any interested
individuals.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission review and receive the executive financial
dashboard reports.
