OFFICE OF THE MAYOR
WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA
W HEREAS, as larger numbers of people enter their later years, it is imperative that
resources and facilities are available to safeguard their individual quality of life while
providing assistance with their daily needs. Assisted living is no longer a one -
dimensional approach to helping the elderly. Assisted - living facilities provide a wide
range of services in many different capacities, from limited assistance in individual
residences to twenty -four hour hospice care.
WHEREAS, the senior community is a vibrant part of Florida, and assisted - living
providers and their staffs help promote continued activity and wellness care. And by
employing professionals who recognize the need for diverse care, facilities in our State
are helping the elderly live with dignity and self - determination.
W HEREAS, aging can present physical, emotional and financial challenges, and
assisted - living providers understand these issues, offering settings and programs for
many different senior communities throughout the State. This month, I urge all Citizens
of Winter Springs to recognize the numerous assisted - living providers and their efforts to
give our older family members quality care.
