REQUEST:
The Parks and Recreation Department wishes to inform the City Commission regarding an
upcoming Easter Event presented and sponsored by Herba Chiropractic & ReMax.
SYNOPSIS:
This is a Community Event presented and sponsored by Herba Chiropractic & ReMax at
Trotwood Park for our residents and the surrounding community. Families will gather and
celebrate with kids activities, egg hunt & prizes. The Easter Event is scheduled for April 7,
2012 at Trotwood Park from 9am-11am.
CONSIDERATIONS:
In January of 2011 Dr. Matthew Herba contacted our department expressing his
interest in sponsoring a community Easter Event for the residents of Winter Springs at
one of our parks.
The 2011 Easter Event was attended by about 400-500 kids and families.

The 2012 Easter Event will be held at Trotwood Park on April 7, from 9am –
11am.
The 2012 event will offer vendors, a city tent, police explorers, kids crafts & games,
and prizes for kids.
Kim Colborn with ReMax, partnered up with Dr. Herba to co-sponsor the event.
All of the expenses of the event will be covered by Dr. Herba & ReMax.

The only impact on regular park operations will be the closure of the Trotwood Park
Splash Pad from 10am-12pm on April 7, 2012.
FISCAL IMPACT:
All Parks and Recreation staffing will use regularly scheduled time or flex time for
the event. There will be no City of Winter Springs employees using overtime for this
event.
The cost of the recommended three (3) City of Winter Springs Police Officers for the
event will be covered in full by the event sponsors.
COMMUNICATION EFFORTS:
This Agenda Item has been electronically forwarded to the Mayor and City Commission,
City Manager, City Attorney/Staff, and is available on the City’s Website, LaserFiche, and
the City’s Server. Additionally, portions of this Agenda Item are typed verbatim on the
respective Meeting Agenda which has also been electronically forwarded to the individuals
noted above, and which is also available on the City’s Website, LaserFiche, and the City’s
Server; has been sent to applicable City Staff, Media/Press Representatives who have
requested Agendas/Agenda Item information, Homeowner’s Associations/Representatives
on file with the City, and all individuals who have requested such information. This
information has also been posted outside City Hall, posted inside City Hall with additional
copies available for the General Public, and posted at five (5) different locations around the
City. Furthermore, this information is also available to any individual requestors. City Staff
is always willing to discuss this Agenda Item or any Agenda Item with any interested
individuals.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff requests the City Commission receive and review the information provided in this
Agenda Item.
