SYNOPSIS: The City Commission has many Board and Committee Members, and is very appreciative of the service they provide to the City, to the City Commission, and to Staff. Thus, when a Board or Committee Member is no longer serving in such a capacity, the City Commission has noted their desire to show their gratitude to these Board and Committee Members. Therefore, in each case of a Board or Committee Member no longer serving, the City Commission is requested to Approve a Resolution of Appreciation. Upon Approval by the City Commission, the applicable Board or Committee Member is then contacted by the City Clerk and asked to attend a future City Commission Regular Meeting to personally receive their Resolution of Appreciation from the Mayor and City Commission. Whatever date is agreed upon for the presentation of the Resolution, the presentation is then noticed on the applicable City Commission Agenda, under "Awards and Presentations." CONSIDERATIONS: Mr. Max Swaim was first Appointed to the Board of Trustees on December 15, 2008 by Commissioner Gary Bonner, Seat Three. With Appiointments /Re- Appointments scheduled for January of 2012 for the entire Board of Consent 206 PAGE 1 OF 2 - January 23, 2012 Trustees, Mr. Swaim asked not to be Appointed to another Term of Office on this Board. Therefore, Resolution 2012 -02 has been written in honor of Mr. Swaim's dedicated service to the City of Winter Springs and to the City Commission as a valued Member of the Board of Trustees. FISCAL IMPACT: There is no fiscal impact related to Resolution Number 2012 -02, if this Resolution is Approved. COMMUNICATION EFFORTS: This Agenda Item has been electronically forwarded to the Mayor and City Commission, City Manager, City Attorney /Staff, and is available on the City's Website, LaserFiche, and the City's Server. Additionally, portions of this Agenda Item are typed verbatim on the respective Meeting Agenda which has also been electronically forwarded to the individuals noted above, and which is also available on the City's Website, LaserFiche, and the City's Server; has been sent to applicable City Staff, eAlert/eCitizen Recipients, Media/Press Representatives who have requested Agendas /Agenda Item information, Homeowner's Associations/Representatives on file with the City, and all individuals who have requested such information. This information has also been posted outside City Hall, posted inside City Hall with additional copies available for the General Public, and posted at five (5) different locations around the City. Furthermore, this information is also available to any individual requestors. City Staff is always willing to discuss this Agenda Item or any Agenda Item with any interested individuals. Upon Approval of this Resolution, the City Clerk will contact Mr. Swaim on behalf of the Mayor and City Commission, in keeping with what the City Commission has previously requested, and invite Mr. Swaim to attend a future City Commission meeting to receive his Resolution in person, from the Mayor and City Commission. RECOMMENDATION: The City Clerk is requesting that the City Commission review and Approve Resolution Number 2012 -02. WHEREAS, -MAX SWAIM has performed an outstanding service to the public by representing the City of Winter Springs on the Board Of Trustees since being Appointed on December 15, 2008; and WHEREAS, the work and efforts of MAX SWAIM has greatly benefited his neighbors and the residents of Winter Springs; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission of the City of Winter Springs, Florida, wish to express their appreciation and acknowledgement on behalf of the citizens of Winter Springs and to commend MAX SWAIM for his conscientious and faithful service. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of Winter Springs, Florida that: SECTION I. — That this Resolution of Appreciation for the service of MAX SWAIM be recorded upon the Public Records and Minutes of said City Commission of the City of Winter Springs, Florida. SECTION II. — That a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to MAX SWAIM with our heartfelt thanks for a job well done!
