Dear Mayor and Commissioners:
This is to advise you of programming changes and information for Bright House Networks customers.
Bright House Networks is continuing its commitment to bring new technology and advanced digital services to our
community. To that end, we have implemented a new digital video delivery technology known as Switched Digital
Video (SDV). SDV is a robust bandwidth- management system that makes it possible to offer more digital video
programming services including new HD channels.
In order to offer more new video services, Bright House Networks will be moving some existing programming
services to the SDV system as well as adding new programming on the SDV system.
On or after November 9, 2011, the following new channels will be delivered on the SDV system:
• ShopNBC will launch in Digital format only on channels 74 and 128. ShopNBC will no longer be available in
analog format, and will not be available on channels 98 in Orange, Seminole & Osceola Counties, 99 in Brevard
County, or 97 in Lake, Marion, Sumter, Flagler and Volusia Counties. ShopNBC will move to the Standard level of
video service.
When delivered on the SDV system, the above channel will become a bi- directional (or two -way) service and will
continue to be available to all Bright House Networks customers who subscribe to our digital services and lease a
digital set -top box or tuning adapter capable of supporting two -way services.
However, the above channel will no longer be available to customers with a unidirectional (one -way) retail
television or other device who currently lease a Cab1eCARD from Bright House Networks but do not utilize a digital
set -top box or tuning adapter. This small number of impacted customers has been notified about the changes that
directly affect their current services, and offered the option of obtaining a digital set -top box or tuning adapter from
Bright House Networks. In either case, such customers will not need to replace their unidirectional retail device.
Other programming information:
The first nationwide test of the U.S. Emergency Alert System will occur at 2:00 p.m. EST on Wednesday,
