The City Clerk requests that the Mayor and City Commission review and Approve Resolution Number 2011-50 offering their Appreciation and gratitude for the Service of Mr. Terry Patten as a recent Member of the Oak Forest Wall and Beautification District Advisory Committee. SYNOPSIS: The City Commission has many Board and Committee Members, and is very appreciative of the dedicated and generous service they have provided to the City, to the City Commission, and to Staff. Thus, based on City Ordinances, when a Board or Committee Member is no longer able to serve on a Board or Committee, the City Commission has noted their desire to show their gratitude to these Board and Committee Members. Therefore, in each case of a Board or Committee Member having reached the end of permitted consistent service, the City Commission is requested to Approve a Resolution of Appreciation. Upon Approval by the City Commission, the applicable Board or Committee Member is then contacted by the City Clerk and asked to attend a future City Commission Meeting to personally receive their Resolution of Appreciation from the Mayor and City Commission. Whatever date is agreed upon for the presentation of the Resolution, the presentation is then noticed on the applicable City Commission Agenda, under "Awards and Presentations." CONSIDERATIONS: Mr. Terry Patten was first Appointed to the Oak Forest Wall and Beautification District Advisory Committee on July 22, 2002 by former Commissioner Robert Miller, Seat One. CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA CITY COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING - SEPTEMBER 26, 2011 CONSENT AGENDA ITEM "204 PAGE 2 OF 2 With the end of August 2011, Mr. Patten has served the allowable consecutive Terms of Office for the Oak Forest Wall and Beautification District Advisory Committee, pursuant to City Ordinances. Resolution 2011 -50 has been written in honor of Mr. Patten's dedicated service to the City of Winter Springs and to the City Commission as a valued Member of the Oak Forest Wall and Beautification District Advisory Committee. FISCAL IMPACT: There is no fiscal impact related to Resolution Number 2011 -50, if this Resolution is Approved. COMMUNICATION EFFORTS: This Agenda Item Has Been Electronically Forwarded To The Mayor And City Commission, City Manager, City Attorney /Staff, And Is Available On The City's Website, LaserFiche, And The City's Server. Additionally, Portions Of This Agenda Item Are Typed Verbatim On The Respective Meeting Agenda Which Has Also Been Electronically Forwarded To The Individuals Noted Above, And Which Is Also Available On The City's Website, LaserFiche, And The City's Server; Has Been Sent To Applicable City Staff, eAlert /eCitizen Recipients, Media /Press Representatives Who Have Requested Agendas /Agenda Item Information, Homeowner's Associations /Representatives On File With The City, And All Individuals Who Have Requested Such Information. This Information Has Also Been Posted Outside City Hall, Posted Inside City Hall With Additional Copies Available For The General Public, And Posted At Five (5) Different Locations Around The City. Furthermore, This Information Is Also Available To Any Individual Requestors. City Staff Is Always Willing To Discuss This Agenda Item Or Any Agenda Item With Any Interested Individuals. Upon Approval of this Resolution, the City Clerk will contact Mr. Patten on behalf of the Mayor and City Commission, in keeping with what the City Commission has previously requested. RECOMMENDATION: The City Clerk is requesting that the City Commission review and Approve Resolution Number 2011 -50. Upon Approval of this Resolution, the City Clerk will then contact Mr. Patten regarding scheduling an official presentation by the Mayor and City Commission at an upcoming City Commission Regular Meeting. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of Winter Springs, Florida that: aSECTION It, —That this Resolution of Appreciation for the service of TERRY PATTEN be recorded upon the Public Records and Minutes of said City Commission of the City of Winter Springs, Florida.
