The City Clerk requests that the Mayor and City Commission review and Approve Resolution Number 2011 -16 offering their Appreciation and gratitude for the Service of Mr. George Colombo as a previous Member of the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee. SYNOPSIS: The City Commission has many Board and Committee Members, and is very appreciative of the service they provide to the City, to the City Commission, and to Staff. Thus, when a Board or Committee Member resigns, the City Commission has noted their desire to show their gratitude to these Board and Committee Members. Therefore, in each case of a Board or Committee Member resigning their position, the City Commission is requested to Approve a Resolution of Appreciation. Upon Approval by the City Commission, the applicable Board or Committee Member is then contacted by the City Clerk and asked to attend a future City Commission Meeting to personally receive their Resolution of Appreciation from the Mayor and City Commission. Whatever date is agreed upon for the presentation of the Resolution, the presentation is then noticed on the applicable City Commission Agenda, under "Awards and Presentations." CONSIDERATIONS: Mr. George Colombo was first Appointed to the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee on September 13, 2010 by former Commissioner Sally McGinnis, Seat Four. Recently, Mr. Colombo resigned from the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee. CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA CITY COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING - MAY 9, 2011 CONSENT AGENDA ITEM "201" PAGE 2 OF 2 Resolution 2011 -16 has been written in honor of Mr. Colombo's dedicated service to the City of Winter Springs and to the City Commission as a valued Member of the City's Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee. FISCAL IMPACT: There is no fiscal impact if Resolution Number 2011 -16 is Approved. COMMUNICATION EFFORTS: This Agenda Item has been electronically forwarded to the Mayor and City Commission, City Manager, City Attorney /Staff, and all eAlert/eCitizen Recipients; and is available on the City's Website, LaserFiche, and the City's Server. Additionally, portions of this Agenda Item are typed verbatim on the respective meeting Agenda which has also been electronically forwarded to the individuals noted above; and which is also available on the City's Website, LaserFiche, and the City's Server; has been sent to City Staff, Media /Press Representatives who have requested Agendas /Agenda Item information, Homeowner's Associations /Representatives on file with the City, and all individuals who have requested such information; and has been posted outside City Hall; posted inside City Hall with additional copies available for the general public; and posted at five (5) different locations around the City. This Agenda Item is also available to any new individual requestors. City Staff is always willing to discuss this or any Agenda Item with any interested individuals. Upon Approval of this Resolution, the City Clerk will contact Mr. Colombo on behalf of the Mayor and City Commission, in keeping with what the City Commission has requested. RECOMMENDATION: The City Clerk is requesting that the City Commission review and Approve Resolution Number 2011 -16. Upon Approval of this Resolution, the City Clerk will then contact Mr. Colombo regarding scheduling an official presentation by the Mayor and City Commission at an upcoming City Commission Regular Meeting.
