REQUEST: The Parks and Recreation Department wishes to inform the City Commission
regarding an upcoming Easter Egg Hunt Event sponsored by Herba
Chiropractic.
SYNOPSIS: The purpose of this item is to inform the City Commission regarding the
Easter Egg Hunt Event scheduled for April 23, 2011 at Trotwood Park.
CONSIDERATIONS:
• In January of 2011 Dr. Matthew Herba contacted our department expressing his interest
in sponsoring a community Easter Egg Hunt Event for the residents of Winter Springs at
one of our parks.
• 2008 was the last time an Easter Egg Hunt Event was held in The City of Winter Springs.
• There were between 800 -1000 kids at our 2008 event
• There will be local food vendors, games, and prizes for our community.
• The event will be held at Trotwood Park on April 23, 2011 from gam — 12 pm.
• All of the expenses of the event will be covered by Dr. Matthew Herba.
• The only impact on regular operations will be the closure of the Trotwood Park Splash
Pad from I Dam -12pm on April 23, 2011.
FISCAL IMPACT:
• All Parks and Recreation staffing will use regularly scheduled time or flex time for the
event. There will be no City of Winter Springs employees using overtime for this event.
• The cost of the recommended three (3) City of Winter Springs Police Officers for the
event will be covered in full by Dr. Matthew Herba.

COMMUNICATION EFFORTS:
This Agenda Item has been forwarded to the Mayor and City Commission; City
Manager; City Attorney /Staff; placed in Press Packets; placed in the City Hall (Lobby)
City Commission Meeting binder; and is available on the City's Website, LaserFiche,
and the City's Server. Additionally, information related to this Agenda Item has been
sent to media /press representatives who have requested Agendas /Agenda Item
information, all Homeowner's Associations on file with the City, all individuals who
have requested Agendas /Agenda Item information, Department Directors; and also
posted outside City Hall; posted inside City Hall with additional copies available for the
general public; and posted at five (5) different locations around the City.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Parks and Recreation recommends that the City Commission review the information presented.
