Meeting Authorization
REQUEST: The City Manager is requesting that the City Commission approve the FY
2012 Budget Calendar.
SYNOPSIS:
Approval of calendar in order to establish a timeline for the FY 2012 budget process
CONSIDERATIONS:
Regarding the Budget Calendar, the most relevant and critical events have been bolded on the
Proposed Budget Calendar (attached). The months of June and July have been identified for
Commission budget workshops which will be scheduled on an ongoing and as- needed basis.
August workshops may also be convened if further budget refinement is warranted.
Presentation of the Proposed Budget will reflect Commission consensus from the June
workshops and will occur by July 1 The Winter Springs' public hearing schedule must defer to
those of Seminole Schools and Seminole County. While those agencies have not yet officially
established their budget calendars, their tentative public hearing dates do not present a conflict
with our Monday night Commission meeting calendar. July 25 is the last regularly - scheduled
Commission meeting in which to establish the millage cap. September 26 is the last regularly -
scheduled Commission meeting in which to adopt the budget.
