To Whom This May Concern:
1 attended a Code Enforcement Meeting on July 20, 2010 @ 7pm to explain the
extenuating circumstances of receiving a ticket for "running a red light ". I was appalled,
of how Laura Leigh Wood treated me and the other individuals pleaded their case. She
was very unprofessional with her disturbing comments made to everyone who took the
stand. I knew it could result in having to pay for my ticket but felt it was worth my time
explaining to the board that my 16 year old daughter who has a learners permit, whom is
an inexperienced driver, who I continuously educate and work with to become a
independent licensed driver, had 3 seconds to make a decision to stop or proceed while
doing the speed limit of 50 miles per hour. I did not have enough time to allow her to
make a decision and myself to correct her in time to be safe for her and others from the
time the light turned yellow to red. I do understand that she "ran the red light" but it was
very close and I attended the code enforcement board to see if my side of the extenuating
circumstances could be heard. I would have NEVER attended had I known Laura Leigh
was going to give her very opinionated, sarcastic and demeaning remarks on how I am
teaching my daughter to run red lights and how she wished that she attended the meeting
with me. I could not believe the comments that this women made to EVERYONE
challenging their ticket. I'm sure that the meeting was audio and possible video taped,
and strongly encourage you to listen to how I was treated not only as a person but as a
citizen of Winter Springs. I would like to see Ms. Wood reprimanded for the
unprofessional circus show she performed.
