W H EREAS, water is a basic and essential need of every living creature; and
W H EREAS, the State of Florida, Water Management Districts, and City of Winter Springs are working together to
increase awareness about the importance of water conservation, and
WHEREAS, the City of Winter Springs and the State of Florida has designated April, typically a dry month when water
demands are most acute, Florida's Water Conservation Month to educate citizens about how they can help save Florida's
precious water resources; and
WHEREAS, the City of Winter Springs has long encouraged and supported water conservation through various
educational programs; and
WHEREAS, every business, industry, school, and citizen can make a difference by conserving water and thus
promoting a healthy economy and community; and
WHEREAS, outdoor irrigation comprises a large portion of water use, Winter Springs will encourage citizens and
businesses to focus on improving outdoor irrigation efficiency;
NOW THEREFORE, I, VeVln McCann, Mayor of the City of Winter Springs, Florida do hereby Proclaim the month of April as:
WATER CONSERVATION MONTH
in the City of Winter Springs and call upon all residents and businesses to help protect our precious water resources
by practicing water -saving measures and increasing awareness of the importance of conservation.
