HomeMy WebLinkAbout2026 02 09 Regular 500 - Stormwater Pond Maintenance Program PresentationREGULAR AGENDA ITEM 500 CITY COMMISSION AGENDA | FEBRUARY 9, 2026 REGULAR MEETING TITLE Stormwater Pond Maintenance Program Presentation SUMMARY The cost associated with the Stormwater Pond Maintenance Program will be represented in the City’s budget and incorporated into the Stormwater Utility rate structure. This presentation will review the City’s current level of maintenance service for public stormwater ponds, illustrate the number of ponds in the City, and discuss the City’s commitment to establish an anticipated level of service for ponds set forth in the presentation. The number of stormwater ponds maintained by the City and its related impact on the stormwater utility rate will also be discussed during the presentation. Definitions: 1. Public Ponds are ponds that are on City owned or dedicated property and receive stormwater drainage from City roads and public right-of-way areas. 2. Hybrid Ponds are ponds that are not on City owned property but receive stormwater drainage from City roads and public right-of-way areas. Currently, some hybrid ponds have recorded documentation providing a maintenance easement(s) to the City and/or have a recorded maintenance agreement with the City. 3. Private Ponds are ponds that are on private property and receive stormwater drainage from private roads. FUNDING SOURCE Not considered at this time. RECOMMENDATION Staff respectfully requests that the City Commission reach consensus and adopt the City’s Pond Maintenance Program at the conclusion of the presentation and direct staff to incorporate the related costs for the program into the forthcoming Stormwater Utility Rate Study. 177
