PURPOSE: The purpose of this Commission item is to request authorization to purchase five (5) Heart Monitor Defibrillators at a cost of $94,312.35, which includes $5,000 trade-in value for existing equipment through the State of Florida SNAPS II agreement #4563044, from Philips Medical Systems. CONSIDERA TIONS: This equipment is budgeted for this fiscal year as part of a capital eq uipment replacement program for heart monitor defibrillators that are approaching 5 years of service. The State of Florida under SNAPS n agreement #4563044 is a fast-track method for establishing non-mandatory, non-exclusive, agreements for use by state agencies, local governments and the university system. SNAPS II simplifies the purchasing process by eliminating the requirement for competitive quotations - as these prices are pre-negotiated. Philips Medical Systems has quoted per the SNAPS n agreement, equipment and supplies for five (5) heart monitor and defibrillators including the trade-in of the existing five (5) Hewlett Packard hemi monitor defibrillators for $94,312.35. Expenditure of funds will occur within 60 days. RECOMMENDA TI0N: It is recommended that authorization be granted to purchase five (5) Philips heart monitor defibrillators including supplies and the trade-in of the existing five (5) Hewlett Packard heart monitor defibrillators utilizing the Florida SNAPS IT agreement #4653044 at a cost of $94,312.35 from Philips Medical Systems.
