REQUEST:
Information Services requests authorization to proceed
with network security project in the amount of $13,900
($12,000 + travel expenses not to exceed $1,900) with
DynTek for network redesign and security implementation.
PURPOSE:
To obtain authorization to proceed with network security project with
Dyntek for network redesign and security implementation not to
exceed $13,900.
CONSIDERATIONS:
As part of our plan to improve network security, Information Services
currently has a series of security projects and network reconfigurations to
be implemented as budgeted for fiscal year 2005 which was the result of
the security audit performed in fiscal year 2004. The I.S. Director will
have a security audit performed by an outside vendor once per year. We
are now ready to begin implementation of those improvement projects;
and are requesting authorization to proceed with this project in the amount
not to exceed $13,900 ($12,000 services; travel expenses not to exceed
$1,900). A general scope of projects/work is attached to this agenda item.
FUNDING:
Included in FY 2005 budget, Information Services budget - general fund.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
We recommend that the Commission authorize Information Services to
begin implementation of network security implementations in the amount
of$13,900.
