REQUEST:
The Finance Department is requesting City Commission to approve the FY 2005 Budget
Calendar. '
PURPOSE:
To set dates for the FY 2005 budget process.
CONSIDERATIONS:
None.
RECOMMENDATION:
Acceptance of the FY 2005 Budget Calendar.

September 13 Public Hearing (Tentative)
Tentative Budget and proposed rate hearing
(must be within 80 days of certification of value but not earlier than 65
days after certification)
September 14 Arrange for advertisement in paper
Prepare Notice of Proposed Tax Increase (if applicable) and Budget
Summary
September 23 AdvE~rtisement publication date for final millage and budget hearing
(must be within 15 days of the tentative public hearing)
September 17 Deadline to give City Manager the two resolutions (final millage &
final budget) with corresponding agenda items for September 13th
Public Hearing must get to City Clerk by September 2151
September 21 Deadline to give City Clerk the two resolutions with corresponding
agenda items (for September 2ih Public Hearing)
September 27 Public Hearing (Final)
Final millage and budget hearing - Adoption of final millage and
budget must be done separately and in that order.
(Healing must be held not less than 2 days or more than 5 days after
adveltisement is published)
September 28 Resolution to Property Appraiser
Resolution to Tax Collector (different agency than P A)
This must be done within 3 days after adoption of final millage rate
October 4 Mail TRIM package to Property Tax Administration Program
Department of Revenue (must be submitted within 30 days of final
adoption).
Call TRIM to find out if we need to send minutes of final public
hearing; if so, we must wait for those. The submission! deadline is
Octolber 27.
