Meeting Authorization
REQUEST: Utility Department Requesting Authorization to Purchase One (1) Sterling Dump
Truck by Piggybacking ofT of the State Contract Bid #070-700-230 (8D).
PURPOSE: The purpose of this Board item is to request authorization to piggyback off of the State
Contract Bid #070-700-230-(8D)for the purchase of one (1) Single Axle Dump Truck for
the Utility Department at a cost of $49,985.00 from Atlantic Ford Truck Sales Inc..
CONSIDERA TIONS:
This vehicle is needed as part of the fleet maintenance and replacement program for
the Utility Department. The State of Florida has already received bids for the Sterling being
considered under Bid #070-700-230(8D). The vehicle requested for purchase is a Sterling
chassis single axle dump truck. The bid price for the dump truck is $49,985.00.

FUNDING:
The vehicle purchase of $49,985.00 is within the budget in the Utility Department
vehicle line code 3600-56400. Expenditure of the funds will occur within 90 to 120 days.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that authorization be granted to piggyback off of the State of
Florida Contract Bid #070:-700-230(8D) with Atlantic Ford Truck Sales Inc. for the
purchase of one (1) 2003 35,000 LB. GVW Sterling dump truck for the Utility Department
at a total cost of $49,985.00 payable from the Utility Department Vehicle line code 3600-
56400.
IMPLEMENTATION SCHEDULE:
The delivery ofvehic1es will occur within the next 90 to 120 days.
