REQUEST: Police Department requests that the Commission approve a supplemental
appropriation of $12,000 which has been offset by the receipt of $12,000 of grant revenue
(FY 05) for the purchase of the 28' foot enclosed trailer for the Community Services
Bureau.
PURPOSE: To seek Commission approval to increase the 2006 expenditure budget by
$12,000, an amount equal to grant monies received from Seminole County Board of
Commissioners, for the purpose of purchasing a 28' enclosed trailer for the Community
Service Bureau (2114).
CONSIDERATIONS: On September 12, 2005 the Police Department informed
the City Commission of its grant award from Seminole County Board of Commissioners
in the amount of $12,000.00 for the purchase of a Drug Awareness trailer. Because the
funds were received late in the fiscal year it was impossible to purchase the trailer and
receive it by our fiscal year end. A check in the amount of $12,000 was placed in the
General Fund during fiscal year 2005. The difference between the grant monies received
($12,000) and the purchase price ($13,374) will be transferred from the Police
Department Community Services - Promotional Activities budget (2114-54800).
FUNDING: Supplemental Appropriation from the General Fund in the amount of
$12,000 and a transfer of $1,374 from Police Department Community Services -
Promotional Activities budget (2114-54800) for a total amount of$13,374 to 2114-64000
(Community Services - Equipment).
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the budget adjustments necessary to purchase the
Drug Awareness trailer for the Community Services Bureau:
. $12,000 General Fund supplemental appropriation
. $1,374 line code transfer from Police Department Community Services-
Promotional Activities (2114-54800).
