REQUEST:
The Parks and Recreation Department is notifying the City Commission that
the Winter Springs, Seminole Cultural Arts Council application requesting
funding for the Holiday and Spring Philharmonic Orchestra Concerts was
selected for funding in the amount of $ 2,000.
PURPOSE:
The purpose of this item is to notify the City Commission of this award.
CONSIDERATIONS:
. Parks and Recreation submitted an application for funding on August 3, 2006 to the
Seminole County Cultural Arts Council grant program.
. The City of Winter Springs, Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra Events (Holiday and
Spring) were selected for funding in the amount of $ 2,000.
. The maximum award allowed is $ 2,000.
FUNDING:
$ 2,000 toward the cost of the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra Events (Holiday
and Spring).

Dear City of Winter Springs,
Thank you for your grant application. On September 7, 2006, the SCAC
grant review panel reviewed eight grant applications and was able to award
$14,000 in grants. Congratulations! You are the recipient of the 2006-2007
SCAC Grant in the amount of $2.000.
In accordance with receipt of this grant:
1. The SCAC logo, to be used in your marketing and programming, will
be emailed to you. If you need this logo to be sent to a publisher, we
can provide that service.
2. The 2006-2007 final evaluation form must be completed and turned
into the SCAC office as of July 1,2007.
3. It is mandatory that you must be a current member ofSCAC.
4. Your presence is requested at the official grant presentation
November 18, 2006 at the Jazz Fest in Casselberry. (More
information on that will follow.)
We appreciate your efforts to support the arts in Seminole County and wish
you the best in all of your endeavors. We encourage you to submit a grant
next year as well. Please keep your contact information current with SCAC
so we can keep you updated on changes to our grant applications, dates, and
funding amounts for next year.
The Seminole Cultural Arts Council, (SCAC), is a 50l-c-3 organization
whose mission is to serve, support, and nurture the cultural and artistic needs
of Seminole County. In May 1995, the Seminole County Board of
Commissioners designated the Council as the official recipient of Florida
ARTS license plates funds. With this and other funding, financial support and
grants, services, programs, and information are provided to arts and cultural
organizations, individual artists and the community.
