REQUEST:
The Parks and Recreation Department is requesting the City Commission to
authorize the City Manager to apply for a Recreational Development
Assistance Program Grant for Trotwood Park on behalf of the City of Winter
Springs.
PURPOSE:
The purpose of this item is to apply for potential grant funds in the amount of
$ 200,000.00 for Parks and Recreation Improvements to Trotwood Park.
CONSIDERA TIONS:
. The Trotwood Park Improvements include Splash Playground, Picnic Pavilion, 4 New
Tennis Courts, Sand Volleyball Court, Small Bike Trail, Basketball Court Renovations,
Resurface and Shade Structures for Tot and Youth Playgrounds, Interior Restroom
Renovations, and Paved Access Road and additional Paved Parking.
. The FRDAP Grant Program is a matching grant SO/50 with a maximum of $ 200,000
awarded.
. Staff is in the process of completing all the required grant exhibits in order to meet the
September 15, 2005 grant deadline.

FUNDING:
Matching Grant SO/50, $ 200,000 from Park Impact Fees FY 06/07, if selected for
funding.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
The Parks and Recreation Department is recommending that the City Commission
approve this application of a FRDAP grant for Trotwood Park Improvements and
authorize the City Manager to apply for the grant on behalf of the City of Winter Springs.

July 2006
Sept.-Oct 2006
Nov.-Dee 2007
January 2008
Project Priority List (Ranking).
Final Legislative Approval and Grant Award.
Execution of Project Agreement.
