Krebs make an Appointment to the Oak Forest Wall and Beautification District Advisory Committee. PURPOSE: This Appointment is needed to replace a current vacancy on the Oak Forest Wall and Beautification District Advisory Committee. CONSIDERATIONS: Commissioner Joanne M. Krebs is being requested to make an Appointment to the Oak Forest Wall and Beautification District Advisory Committee to replace Committee Member Dick Taylor who resigned in March 2005. This Advisory Committee typically meets on the second Thursday of each month, beginning at 7 :00 p.m. CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS CITY COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING - JUNE 13, 2005 REGULAR AGENDA ITEM 507 PAGE 2 OF 2 The Term of Service for Oak Forest Wall and Beautification District Advisory Committee Members is typically three (3) years; however, as the individual appointed to this Term of Office would normally serve through August 2005, Commissioner Krebs is being asked to specify if this Appointment should continue with a full three year term to continue in August 2005, or if Commissioner Krebs would prefer that this Appointment be brought back at a future Meeting for this action. If this Appointment is not made at this Meeting, this matter will be placed on subsequent Agendas until the vacancy has been filled, or as otherwise suggested by Commissioner Joanne M. Krebs. RECOMMENDATION: Commissioner Joanne M. Krebs is requested to make an Appointment to the Oak Forest Wall and Beautification District Advisory Committee however, as the individual appointed to this Term of Office would normally serve through August 2005, Commissioner Krebs is being asked to specify if this Appointment should continue with a full three year term to continue in August 2005, or if Commissioner Krebs would prefer that this Appointment be brought back at a future Meeting for this action. I am sure this comes as no surprise as I did explain in some detail at the meeting in January where my life was going and why, I certainly appreciate the honor of serving from the seat my beloved wife Lorie served the City of Winter Springs. Fortunately life does go on and Lorie, in her last weeks of life ordered me through my daughier to pursue a life with another partner, typical ofLorie as she was always more concerned about others than herself. My daughter and I feel that this was the ultimate height ofLorie's love and I know it as I experienced it for nearly forty four years. Steve Richart and I have been working together to decide on a suitable monument for the Memorial area in Oak Forest entry on Winter Springs Blvd. My decision has been made to underwrite the cost of the stone and engraved plate. Steve and I both have been in contact with the company that will undoubtedly be doing the work. As soon as this is all cleared with the City I will purchase it I will be available through March 30,2005 if you would like me to go to the City with the project and also to help with the labor on the project. My very best to the committee, it's members and the City of Winter Springs Mayor and Commission. My love for the City will never diminish and you all will always be in my prayers.
