REQUEST: City Manager updating the Commission on the status of the Fire
Consolidation Study with Seminole County.
PURPOSE: The purpose of this agenda item is to update the Commission on the status of the
Fire Consolidation Study with Seminole County.
CONSIDERA TION:
On November 11, 2002 the City Commission authorized the City Manager to make the County
aware of the City's interest in exploring the consolidation of Fire and Emergency Medical
Services.
Subsequent to that date I met with County Manager Kevin Grace regarding the Study. The
County Manager stated that he would forward a letter outlining the County's approach to the
Study. Basically, he stated that they would follow the same approach they followed with
Altamonte Springs. In this approach the Study would be developed by the County Staff with
assistance from the City Staff. There would be no cost for the study other than Staff time.
I will bring this matter back to you when I receive his letter.
