Regular Meeting
The Parks and Recreation Department is requesting that the City
Commission approve staffs plan and funding to provide for the Staging,
Lighting, Sound System, Entertainment, Shuttle Buses and other
associated Items for the July 3, 2005, Celebration of Freedom,
PURPOSE:
The purpose of this item is to approve staffs plan and funding for
providing the Staging, Lighting, Sound System, Entertainment, and Shuttle
Buses for July 3, 2005,
CONSIDERATIONS:
. The City of Winter Springs has conducted a successful Independence Day Special Event
for the past Five years.
. Last year city staff put together and conducted the event which was successful, but rain
put a damper on the event.
. Staff plans includes entering into an agreement with Infinity Broadcasting (MIX 105.1) to
provide sponsors, vendors, and promotion.
. The Winter Springs Rotary Club will again provide the very successful and popular kids
games area at a cost to them of over $ 3,500.

RECOMMENDA TIONS:
The Parks and Recreation Department is recommending that the City Commission approve
Staff's plan for the Staging, Lighting, Sound System, Entertainment, Shuttle Buses and other
associated items for the July 3, 2005 Celebration of Freedom and provide needed additional
funding in the amount of$ 52,000 from General Fund Reserves into 7260-54800-90100,
