Authorization
REQUEST: The Parks and Recreation Department is requesting that the City Commission approve
a supplemental appropriation of$ 5,175.00 to replace an air conditioner unit on the
Civic Center.
PURPOSE: The purpose of this item is to provide the necessary funding to replace an air
conditioning unit on the Civic Center.
CONSIDERATIONS:
. The Civic Center Center's Air Conditioning System is not able to keep the Center cool for the
summer recreation program, classes and rentals.
. The City of Winter Springs has a contract with Westbrook Service Corporation to provide AC
services to the city.
. The evaluation of one of the (3) three AC units on the Civic Center is that the unit's compressor
values are not working properly and the unit needs to be repaired or replaced and upgraded.
. The unit is (10) ten years old and repair of the compressor would not be cost effective.
. The cost to replace and upgrade the unit from 4-ton to a 5-ton unit is $ 5,175.00.
