REQUEST:
The City Manager is requesting that the City Commission establish new budget workshop dates
in June 2005 and approve the FY 2006 Revised Budget Calendar.
PURPOSE:
To establish new budget workshop dates in June 2005 and approve the FY 2006 Revised Budget
Calendar.
CONSIDERATIONS:
On February 14,2005, the City Commission adopted a budget calendar. Due to the changes in
the City Manager's vacation schedule the City Manager is requesting the Commission to
consider establishing new workshop dates in June. These changes will not represent any
problems in getting the budget adopted on a timely basis.
RECOMMENDATION:
To determine new budget workshop dates in June and accept the FY 2006 Revised Budget
Calendar.

(must be sent within 35 days of certification of value)
August 24 Deadline for Property Appraiser to send TRIM Notice
(This is considered notification of Tentative Budget hearing and it must
be mailed by them within 55 days subsequent to value certification)
September 2 Deadline to give to City Manager for Sept lin Commission meeting
September 7 Deadline to give City Clerk the two resolutions with corresponding
agenda items (for September 12th Public Hearing)
September 12 Public Hearing (Tentative)

Final Budget:
September 13 Arrange for advertisement in paper
Prepare Notice of Proposed Tax Increase (if applicable) and Budget
Summary
September 15 Submit ad to TRIM office for compliance review
Submit ad to Orlando Sentinel; review proof and sign off
September 22 Advertisement publication date (Thursday for Seminole Extra) for
final millage and budget hearing
(must be within 15 days of the tentative public hearine:)
September 16 Deadline to give City Manager the two resolutions (final millage &
final budget) with corresponding agenda items for September 26th Final
Public Hearing
September 21 Deadline to give City Clerk the two resolutions with corresponding
agenda items (for September 26th Public Hearing)
September 26 Public Hearing (Final)
Final millage and budget hearing - Adoption of final millage and
budget must be done separately and in that order.
(Hearing must be held not less than 2 days or more than 5 days
after advertisement is published)
September 27 Resolution to Property Appraiser
Resolution to Tax Collector (different agency than P A)
This must be done within 3 days after adoDtion of final milla!!e rate
Soon after the Mail TRIM package to Property Tax Administration Program
Final Hearing Department of Revenue (must be submitted within 30 days of final
adoption).
Call TRIM to find out if we need to send minutes of final public
hearing; if so, we must wait for those. The submission deadline is
October 27.
