REQUEST: Police Department requesting the Commission to review the information

CONSIDERA TIONS: Based on the inquiries regarding any activities on the Cross
Seminole Trial, police records were checked for the past 12 months. No reports or
complaints were received concerning any activities on the trail. However, 5 police reports
were filed at the Jetta Point trailhead for the Cross Seminole Trail in the past year. Four of
the reports were generated by police officers and one citizen report. The 4 reports
generated by police officers dealt with cars parked at Jetta Point after dark. One of those
was an abandon vehicle. One citizen filed a report of a stolen bicycle at Jetta Point.
. On June 8, 2000, at 9:30 p.m. a police officer found a vehicle parked in the parking lot
at Jetta Point Trailhead. The driver was issued a warning for being parked there after
dark.
. On June 22, 2000, at 9:57 p.m. another vehicle was found parked at the Jetta Point
Trailhead. That person was also issued a warning.

No other incidents were reported by police officers or citizens. The parking lot is routinely
patrolled by officers and when possible, the trail itself is patrolled by police officers on
bicycles.
Feedback from the Patrol Bureau Commander and Patrol Watch Commanders on all shifts
verifY that we are not experiencing any problems or unusual activities on the trail. The
property around the L.D. Plant facility has not yielded any problems. The gate leading to
