REQUEST: The Utility Department is Requesting a Supplemental Appropriation from
the fund balance of the Utility Enterprise Fund for Vehicle Replacement.
PURPOSE: The purpose of this Board item is to request authorization to piggyback off of
Florida Sheriff's Association Bid #04-12-0823 with Don Reid Ford for the
purchase of one (1) utility truck for Utility Department at a cost $15,930 payable
from a supplemental appropriation to the Utility Vehicle line code (3600-64100).
CONSIDERATIONS:
This vehicle is needed to replace a Utility Department vehicle which was
involved in an accident in which the employee was not at fault. The insurance
company for the party at fault totaled the vehicle and issued a check in the amount
of $2,573.33. The totaled vehicle is a 1994 Ford Ranger which was not
anticipated to be replaced for several more years.
The replacement vehicle being requested for purchase is a 2005 Ford F-
150 pickup truck. The Florida Sheriff's Association has already received bids for
the 2005 Ford F-150 being considered under Bid #04-12-0823. The cost would
be $15,930.
FUNDING:
The funds needed, $15,930, would be appropriated from Utility Enterprise
Fund balance to the Vehicle line code (3600-64100).

RECOMMENDATION:
The Utility Department recommends the City Commission authorize the
City Manager to piggyback off of Florida Sheriff's Association Bid #04-12-0823
with Don Reid Ford for the purchase of one (1) utility truck for Utility Department
at a cost $15,930 payable from a supplemental appropriation to the Utility Vehicle
line code (3600-64100).
