Famous Grouse
Hi Chuck:
As we discussed, J would like to request an amendment to our contract with
the City of Winter Springs to allow "The Famous Grouse", one of our major
sponsors, to distribute samples of their scotch whisky from their booth
during our event. Keeping in mind the family nature of our event as well as
our reputation, that of the City of Winter Springs, not to mention their own
good name, they have established very strict policies to govern this
distribution. First, the amount of the sample is very strictly limited to %
ounce of their products per person. Each person is then stamped to ensure
that they do not return later for more. The Famous Grouse maintains very
strict adherence to all alcohol related ordinances and laws. Their legal
department has to approve all events. The organization has been in the
business since 1896. As a part of their marketing efforts here in North
America, they have found that events such as the 25th Annual Scottish
Festival and Highland Games are a very good way for them to market their
product to a receptive audience. This is not something new for them. Here
are just a few references:
Scott Innis - President 2001- Virginia Scottish Games - 301.386.8762
Frank Black - Sarasota Highland Games - 941.697.0268
Linda Merkel - Celtic Fest - Maryland - 610.868.9599
Please add this request to the agenda for the Dec. 10th City Commission
meeting. As always, thanks for your continuing partnership in putting
together this exciting event.
Sincerely,
Rick Marshall
President
Scottish American Society
Of Central Florida
