MIKE MINGEA, CITY ARB ORI S T, AT THE AUGUST 13, 2008 REGULAR MEETING. Arbor Ordinance 1. An Arbor Permit must be acquired prior to removing any tree with a trunk diameter of 4" or more. 2. Regardless if the tree is living or dead, an arbor permit is required for removal. 3. The City of Winter Springs encourages the removal of exotic, invasive species. There is no fee, but a permit is still required before removal if the trunk diameter is 4" or more. 4. Trees that are severely diseased, injured, or dead still require a permit but the fee is waived. 5. In order to maintain a healthy canopy within the City of Winter Springs, when trees are removed, a replacement may be required. 6. Any activity without first acquiring the re- quired permit will be subject to penalties and/or fines imposed on the vitiating party. * These are selected guidelines taken from the Winter Springs Arbor Ordinance.
